大学受験生も英語学習者も陥りやすいfalse dilemma(偽りのジレンマ)
の続きになります。
まず今日はfalse dilemmaの定義を
sight translation
(サイトトランスレィション）
してみたいと思います。
sight translationとは
意味・文法のチャンク（塊）ごとに
前からバンバン（翻）訳していく
ことです。大体５，６単語ずつがいい
と思います。このsight translationの
意義・やる上でのメリット・やり方は
また後で記事にしたいと思いますが、
多くの方が直感的にやりたい！やれた
方がいいと思うのではないでしょうか？
僕自身がはっきり意識してやり始めたのは
高校３年生のとき、つまり受験勉強を真面
目にやりだした時ですね。

じゃあ、英語を読むだけじゃなくて、英語を聞くぞ！

後ろから戻って日本語訳なんかしてたら絶対英語を聞いて理解できるようになるわけない！
英語を聞くためには聞こえた順に理解しなくちゃダメじゃないか？

二つの両極（正反対）の見解や意見や結果を提示することを

以下のようなやり方で

それらが（両極の選択肢）唯一の可能性であるかのような

the other must be false,
もう一方は偽でなければならない
or, more typically,

if you do not accept one
もし一報を受け入れなければ
then the other must be accepted.

The reality in most cases is

that there are many in-between
多くの中間の
or other alternative options,
またはほかの代わりの選択肢が存在するのである
not just two mutually exclusive ones.
ただ二つのお互いに相容れない選択肢があるのではなく

A false dilemma (also known as a false dichotomy) is a logically fallacy which involves presenting two opposing views, options or outcomes in such a way that they seem to be the only possibilities: that is, if one is true, the other must be false, or, more typically, if you do not accept one then the other must be accepted.
